Frequently Asked Questions

The Distribution Portal is where taxing authorities and authority groups see the money the Tax Collector's office has collected and distributed for them: every distribution with its amounts, the detail behind each one, the commission retained, and month-by-month collections against the certified tax roll. You can download the reports as PDF or Excel files.

The figures come straight from the Tax Collector's tax system, and you only ever see your own authorities.

Accounts are by invitation. The Tax Collector's office sets up one contact for each authority group or authority; that person gets an e-mail with a link to choose a password. Once signed in, the contact can give other people in their organisation their own login on the Users page.

If you think you should have access, ask your organisation's portal contact or call the Tax Collector's office.

Your username is the e-mail address your invitation was sent to. Upper or lower case does not matter.

Click Forgot your password? on the sign-in page and enter your e-mail address. If it belongs to a portal account, you get an e-mail with a link to choose a new password. The link is good for 7 days and can be used once.

No e-mail? Check your junk or spam folder, then ask the person who added you (or the Tax Collector's office) to send a new set-password e-mail.

Set-password links last 7 days and stop working once a password has been chosen with them. Use Forgot your password? on the sign-in page to get a fresh link, or ask the person who added you to re-send the e-mail.

At least 8 characters, with an upper-case letter, a lower-case letter, a number and a symbol. After several wrong passwords in a row the account is locked for a while; wait and try again, or reset the password.

For security, a session ends after a period without activity and after a maximum length of time, even while you are working. Sign in again to continue. You are also signed out if your login is suspended or your password is changed.

That depends on your login. An authority group's contact sees every authority in the group; an authority's contact sees that one authority; a user added on the Users page sees only the authorities they were given. The authorities you can see are listed on the Dashboard and in your name's menu at the top of the page.

The amounts on every page are your authorities' share only, not the county's totals.

Collected is what was collected for your authorities in the distribution: tax plus interest (the early-payment discounts taxpayers received are shown separately). Net payment is what was paid out to you after the Tax Collector's commission and any negative distributions (refunds and corrections from earlier periods) were taken off.

The Tax Collector retains a commission on what it collects for each authority, at the rates set for that authority. Where the rate is tiered, the amount collected in each tier's range is charged at that tier's rate. Open a distribution's Commission detail to see each tier, the amount in it, the rate and the commission.

It is what has been collected so far for the tax year as a share of the amount charged to collect on the certified tax roll for your authorities, so it climbs through the collection season.

Yes. Each distribution has a report as a PDF or an Excel workbook, and a parcel detail file (CSV) listing the parcels behind it. Authority Collections can be downloaded as PDF or Excel once you generate the report.

If your menu has Users, open it and click Add user. Enter their name and e-mail address and choose which of your authorities they may see. They get an e-mail to choose their password. You can change their authorities, suspend them, re-send the e-mail or remove them at any time. If you do not have Users, ask your organisation's portal contact.

Call the Tax Collector's office (the number is at the bottom of every page) and give them the distribution's period and the authority. The portal shows the office's records as they are; it cannot change them.
